Saramba Kandeh
Board Member
Saramba Kandeh the Coordinator of the African Leadership Centre Alumni Association and a Member of the Board of Trustees of the African Leadership Centre. She is an International Human Rights Lawyer with extensive experience in defending marginalized communities and advocating for accountability within international institutions and governments. Since 2016, she has served as the Legal and Gender Advisor for AIDS-Free World's Code Blue Campaign, which seeks to end impunity for sexual exploitation and abuse by UN personnel. Her work includes navigating complex legal landscapes such as UN accountability and supporting a human rights lawsuit in The Gambia on behalf of people living with HIV.
Saramba is also a Senior Partner at Marrah & Associates Law Firm and the Co-Director of Freedom Hub Sierra Leone, a local NGO that promotes human rights and upholds the rule of law through strategic litigation.
Previously, Saramba was the Deputy Director of Timap for Justice, Supervisor of the Human Rights Clinic at Fourah Bay College, and Duty Counsel at AdvocAid Sierra Leone. She holds an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from the University of Notre Dame and is an alumna of the Women, Peace, and Security Fellowships at King's College London/African Leadership Centre.
