Zeedah Meierhofer-Mangeli
Board Member
Zeedah Meierhofer-Mangeli is expansively trained in sociology and pedagogy and Conflict resolution and management. She is an educator and a specialist on social and transformative justice, women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as a staunch advocate for the promotion of girls and girls power. Zeedah has spent many doing race relation work, including developing moduls for work the Swissair, the Zurich police and in over 60 schools in Switzerland. As an activist and politician, she was the first woman of color to run for public office in Switzerland.
With many years of leading work on youth, Zeedah has a passion for mentoring adolescent girls and supporting legacies created by African women which she records through various oralherstory projects and unique photography.
Zeedah is a sought after facilitator and trainer for Leadership, Personal development and Feminist theory & practice. She is committed to the education of young women and girls, traveling extensively to support, mentor and assists organisations in module development and conceptualising for this work. Her work includes training military Cadre in eg. Ruanda, India, Kenya, and Nigeria.
She is the founder of the Award winning Resource Center for women and Girls Trust Machakos, Kenya, which was recognised as one of the leading African Girls projects in 2020, and which was awarded for its unique work with adolescent Girls from rural and marginalised communities..
Zeedah’s photographs, mostly recording the lives and profiles of African women, have featured in exhibitions in Switzerland, Uganda, London (UK) and at the United Nations in New York.
She has won various awards for her work, including an award for Innovation (UK), and for her pioneer work for Migrant people in Switzerland (Bern). In 2023, The City of Zurich honoured Zeedah with the prestigious Zuri Taler Award, given in recognition of her work, various pioneer projects and for critical collaborations with the City if Zurich.
