VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

African Leadership Centre (ALC) seeks to recruit a competent and dedicated candidate to fill up the Position of Administrative Assistant. Working under the supervision of the Finance and Administration Associate and other relevant ALC staff, the Administrative Assistant will assist in coordination, administration and logistical tasks within the Finance and Administration department.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. Proven working experience in an office setting carrying out administrative and clerical duties
ii. Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with good listening and critical reasoning skills.
iii. Attend all meetings as directed to identify and record all action items for necessary action.
iv. Provide support to finance and administration during audit professes
v. Assist in Asset Management of ALC properties
vi. Assist in Securing passes for fellows in collaboration with fellowship department
vii. Generate requisite reports and presentations, in the prescribed formats.
viii. Creating, maintaining, and entering information into databases.
ix. Organizing travel by booking accommodation and reservation needs as required
x. Assists with setting meetings and organizing events when needed.
xi. Maintain basic financial database records, where necessary.
xii. Assist in procurement of basic office requirements as may be assigned
xiii. Contact person with the regular ALC suppliers and other ALC partners
xiv. Perform additional duties when required

Applicants should have the following minimal Academic and Professional qualifications:
i. University degree in Business Administration, Management or other related discipline or equivalent
ii. Proficiency in MS Office.
iii. Fluency in English and Kiswahili
iv. At least one (1) year hands on experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role in a reputable organization.

iii. Exceptional Communication Skills
iv. Ability to work productively in multicultural environments
v. Able to handle pressure
vi. Able to work in a team
