ALC Fellows visit UK Parliament.

The current 2016/17 cohort of ALC Fellows visited the UK parliament on 1st March 2017, as part of their ongoing training on the Fellowship programme.

The aim of the visit was to enable the Fellows to explore parliamentary practice and procedure in the context of Westminster; to explore the role of an MP in addressing issues that relate to the Fellows’ area of study; and to enable an informative exchange with relevant stakeholders within Parliament.

Along with touring Parliament and learning about procedures and practices, the Fellows observed Prime Minister's Question time from the viewing gallery; had a working lunch with delegates from the All Party Parliamentary Group for Africa; and met with the the Shadow Minister for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Liz McInnes MP.
