Stephanie Minou

Stephanie MinouStephanie Minou holds a Bachelor’ Degree in Political Sciences (BPolSCi), as well as an Honours Degree (BA Hons) in International Relations from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

In 2014, she successfully completed a Master's of Arts (MA) (Distinction) in International Relations from the same University.

Her MA thesis focused on the role of regional integration in the transformation of conflicts in West Africa, through the lens of ECOWAS.

Stephanie previously worked as a tutor in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria. Prior to joining the ALC as a fellow, she was a Junior Research Assistant at the Centre for the Study of Governance Innovation (GovInn) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

In that position she was involved in an international research project entitled ‘RegioConf: Regional Integration and Conflict Transformation’ research project which focused on assessing the effects of regional integration on conflict transformation in all parts of the world, and within which she worked on the West African region. As part of this, she carried fieldwork in several countries including Ghana, Burkina Faso and Nigeria and Ethiopia, in order to assess the effect of regional integration and conflict transformation in West Africa.
Stephanie has co-authored articles: “Is Power-Sharing a solution to Africa’s conflicts?” and “The EU and regional integration in West Africa: what effects on conflict resolution and transformation?” The latter also constitutes her upcoming co-authored book chapter.
