Susan K. Muriungi holds an MA in International Relations from the United States International University - Africa, and a BA in Economics from the University of Nairobi. She has worked in the Child Protection Programe for Save the Children Sweden, Eastern and Central African Office in Nairobi as well as Crisis Action - Nairobi. While at Crisis Action, she was involved in advocacy for protection of civilians in Sudan and S. Sudan in the pre and post independence period of the country. Some of her main achievements while at Crisis Action involved assisting to coordinate concerned Civil Society Organizations within the Horn of Africa to respond to civilian protection in Sudan and S. Sudan.
