Shuvai Nyoni

Prior to joining CSDG, Shuvai worked as a Project Leader at the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) based in Cape Town, South Africa. IJR’s main focus is to promote reconciliation, transitional justice and democratic nation-building in Africa. Shuvai led the work of the Southern Africa Desk within the Institute’s Transitional Justice in Africa Programme, focusing on Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Through her work Shuvai has engaged with issues pertaining to post-conflict reconstruction, governance, social and economic justice, transitional justice, reconciliation, and national and community healing. Shuvai has worked with a variety of stakeholders and beneficiaries including policy makers, civil society practitioners, academics, community-based organisations and political actors. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science (BSocSci) degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and a Master of Social Science (MSocSci) with a specialization in International Relations, both from the University of Cape Town.
