Selamawit Terefe

Selamawit is a lawyer by profession and a gender activist in Ethiopia. She was one of the founders of Girl's Club of Jimma University and served as president of the club for two years. The club assists female students in Campus economically, socially and academically. She has volunteered and worked in a local NGO called Participatory Community Support Association in Ethiopia and has also worked as head of the legal department of a private limited company based in Ethiopia. Selamawit is a graduate with LLB (First degree in law) from Jimma University, Ethiopia. She is currently completing a Masters of Sociology in Indira Ghandi National Open University (Ethiopia).

  • Human security and natural resources
  • Violence against women in times of war or crisis
