Kamau Nyokabi holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree (Psychology) from the University of Nairobi. Prior to joining King’s, Kamau worked as a research assistant with the African Leadership Centre Nairobi for more than three and a half years. He is also a junior associate with the Department of Political Sciences, University of Pretoria. Kamau is currently involved in the following research projects: “Re-examining narratives of state and peacebuilding in Africa” for the IDRC funded research project at the African Leadership Centre; and “people-centred approaches to peacemaking in Southern Africa” for the Mellon Foundation funded multidisciplinary research project at the Department of Political Sciences, University of Pretoria. His latest forthcoming book chapter is titled: “Leadership and Peacebuilding in Guinea-Bissau: The Case of the 14 September 2003 Coup”.
