The African Leadership Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Shuvai Busuman Nyoni as its new Director. After a short transition, Shuvai will begin her term as Director of the ALC on 01 October 2016.
This marks a proud, cornerstone moment for the ALC as Shuvai Nyoni is an Alumna of the African Leadership Centre, having been part of the 2009-2010 cohort of the Centre's Peace and Security Fellowship programme for African Women. Part of the ALC’s strategic objective is to have its Alumni form part of the senior leadership of the organization. This marks the start of that new exciting phase in our history.
Shuvai Nyoni has been working as the Director of Interventions at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation in South Africa. She has worked at the Centre in various capacities since 2012. From October 2015 to January 2016, she served as Gender Specialist for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Assessment Mission to South Sudan. She also served as Gender Advisor to the African Union Commission of Inquiry on South Sudan from May to October 2014.
